After passivation of electroplating equipment from electroplating line manufacturers, light "soy sauce marks" can be observed at the lower edge of large workpieces. This phenomenon is mainly caused by the following two reasons:
1. The workpieces are not thoroughly rinsed after passivation, and the surface water film contains passivation solution.
2. The drying method is improper. Natural drying may cause the water film containing passivation solution on the workpiece surface to gradually flow towards the edges, and after the gathered moisture evaporates, it leaves behind soy sauce-colored salt marks.
Another cause is poor bonding strength of the passivation film. This is mainly due to the passivation film not undergoing an aging treatment, which greatly affects the quality of the film!
Experience from electroplating line manufacturers suggests that passivation films that undergo aging treatment at 40-45°C show a significant improvement in protective and wear-resistant properties compared to untreated films.

Manufacturers of electroplating production lines have also found that if there are water droplets on the workpiece surface before aging treatment, the passivation film at these locations will have much poorer properties than other areas after aging treatment. This is because, under high temperature conditions, the acidic water droplets in these areas will break the passivation film underneath. Therefore, before aging treatment, any moisture on the workpiece surface must be absorbed before proceeding with the aging treatment!
